The Academic Society for Gerontological Nursing supports and promotes the professionalization of nursing practice as it:

- elicits and deals with relevant topics for gerontological care,
- uses synergies and networks individuals, institutions and organisations with each other,
- promotes nursing research in the field of gerontology,
- puts new knowledge into practice and
- comments on political proposals.
