Home Care Nursing
The Academic Society for Home Care Nursing is an association of academically trained professional nurses. We are committed to promoting high quality of life for people who depend on home care services.
Professional nursing is based on the ethical principles of justice, care and autonomy and ensures as much self-determination as possible during the whole life-span. Professional home care nursing answers to the physical, social, mental, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs of the persons living at home and their family caregivers.
Our members are either employed by home care nursing organizations or by primary care practices, or work as freelance home care nurses. They also work in nursing education and research focusing on professional home care nursing.
Who cares must know, expecially in the Spitex
In this video, you'll see how our professional society contributes to continuously improving the quality of care in the Spitex, using the example of "Stopp Sturz."
What we aim to accomplish
As the Academic Society of Home Care Nursing we support the professional development of nursing in this field. We:
- define the fields of activity of academic nursing professionals in the home care sector as well as in primary care practices.
- contribute to better interprofessional collaboration in the outpatient primary and long-term care sectors.
- participate in political discussions and consult in decision making processes.
- participate in regional and national projects.
- advocate for and influence the further development of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) activities in the home care setting.
- promote evidence-based nursing care in the home care setting.
- strengthen collaboration with other home care organizations and professional associations, with formal and informal community-based service providers, as well as with cost-bearing institutions like health insurance companies.
- reflect on the role of Advanced Nursing Practice within the health care system and contribute to the evaluation of the added value it offers.
If you like to draw on the expertise of AFG members in a practical or research project or political process, we will be looking forward to your Inquiry.
