We are delighted that you are interested in the Swiss Association for Nursing Science VFP.
The VFP is
- the national representation
- the professional network and
- the scientific partner for interdisciplinary exchange.
In concrete terms, this means for the VFP:
- With its almost 700 individual and collective members, whose number is growing every year, it proactively participates in opinion-forming on issues in the Swiss healthcare system.
- It plays a key role in developing the profile of nursing scientists in clinical practice, education, research and management.
- It brings together important university, clinical and political discussion partners and promotes academic discourse.
Ultimately, a strong nursing science serves both the health of the general population and successful cooperation in the Swiss healthcare system.
Purpose
Today
In 2006, the General Assembly decided to rename the Association to Swiss Association for Nursing Science VFP and to amend the Articles of Association. The purpose and objective of the association were last reformulated at the 2016 General Assembly:
- The VFP aims to support and promote effective and competent nursing practice of high quality and the transfer of research results into practice.
- The VFP supports and promotes the national and international networking of professionals active in the field of nursing science.
- The VFP maintains and promotes academic specialist societies that are committed to specific patient groups and/or key nursing topics.
- The VFP and its Academic Specialist Societies represent and support the concerns of scientific nursing and are actively involved in the further development and coordination of Swiss nursing research as part of a national agenda.
- The VFP and its academic societies are a reliable partner for national organizations, institutions, associations, networks and professional societies, as well as for political institutions and authorities in Switzerland. Through active participation in national health programs, the VFP represents research-based nursing practice.
The VFP raises funds to achieve its objectives.
