The call for abstracts for the Austrian Nursing Congress 26 is now open!

Are you conducting research, analysis, or development in the field of health and nursing? If so, we warmly invite you to submit your research study for the scientific poster exhibition at pflegekongress26! 

This is a great opportunity to present your work to a wide audience of experts, receive valuable feedback… and maybe even win a prize!

How much is better long-term care worth?

How important is geriatric care expertise in long-term care facilities, and to what extent are facilities willing to make targeted investments in this area?

A national online survey conducted by the University of Basel is aimed at managers and decision-makers in long-term care facilities.

Target audience: Executive management, nursing service managers, and individuals with personnel and budget responsibilities
Duration: approx. 20–40 minutes
Time frame: starting in March 2026

Experiences working with female leaders

As part of the research support provided by the VFP/APSI, we would like to draw your attention to a current data collection effort: A master’s thesis in applied psychology at the ZHAW is examining collaboration with female managers in everyday professional life.

We are looking for women who would like to share their experiences in an anonymous online survey. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, is voluntary, and does not allow for any identification of individuals or organizations.

Nursing Program at the Joint Annual Meeting of Cardiology, Cardiac and Thoracic Vascular Surgery, Pulmonology, and Thoracic Surgery
 Look forward to a diverse nursing program as part of the joint annual conference of the professional societies for cardiology, cardiac and thoracic vascular surgery, pulmonology, and thoracic surgery. The program was developed in collaboration with the Cardiovascular Nursing and Therapies Working Group and the AFG Cardiovascular Nursing and offers up-to-date, practice-oriented insights for nurses and allied health professionals. The conference will take place from June 10 to 12, 2026, at the Congress Center Basel. Members of the AG-KAPT/VFP enjoy exclusive benefits: Those who register by April 22, 2026, will receive the early-bird discount as well as a reduced registration fee in the “Nurse and Allied Professionals – Member” category.

It highlights the essential role of nurses in society and the evolution of their profession, balancing dedication, expertise, and growing responsibility.


An interactive area invites every visitor to share their vision of the future of care.

An exhibition organized by the Institute and La Source University of Health Sciences in collaboration with the Institute for Humanities in Medicine at CHUV–UNIL and the Palais de Rumine.

Climate Change and Health: Roles and Impacts of Stakeholders in Health Promotion and Prevention

The symposium is organized by La Source in collaboration with Unisanté. It will feature presentations by experts on climate change mitigation, adaptation strategies, and the implications for health promotion and prevention practices.
