More and more people are developing cancer. At the same time, however, more and more knowledge is being gained about how to prevent cancer and counter its effects in such a way that a dignified existence is possible even with the disease.
In order to provide high-quality care, these findings must be optimally implemented in practice our aim is to develop a basis for turning good knowledge into good action.
Swiss Oncology & Hematology Congress 2023

AFG Oncology Nursing was once again involved in the organization board of the SOHC in Basel this year. Together with Oncology Nursing Switzerland (OPS) and the Swiss Society for Medical Oncology, we were able to hold an exciting session on specialist staff in oncology and how to win. Prof. Simon from the Institute of Nursing Science at the University of Basel presented the first evaluation of the SAnOS study, in which the situation of oncology nurses in Switzerland was recorded. For her part, Prof. Isabelle Peytremann Bridevaux from the University of Lausanne presented the results of the Scohpica Studiea survey on the working situation of healthcare professionals in Switzerland. Dr. Lukas Engelberger, President of the Conference of Cantonal Health Directors, was also a guest. In addition to his own presentation on the health policy perspective, he also took part in discussions with those present.
In a second session together with the OPS, palliative.ch and Oncoreha, fatigue symptom management was examined from an interprofessional perspective. in addition, a working session of the AFG Oncology Care was held during the congress and exciting projects were planned for 2024.

26. Swiss Oncology Nursing Congress

As every year, AFG Oncology Care is also co-organizer in 2024. Further information can be found directly on the Website of Oncology Care Switzerland.
Our AFG is once again represented with an information stand. Dr. Anna Götz will enrich the main program with a lecture on obstacles and taboos in stress screening. Esther Näf, a nursing expert from Inselspital in Bern, will be offering a seminar on behalf of AFG on "Trans, non-binary and intersex people - a taboo in hospital?"
As part of the 27th Swiss Oncology Nursing Congress 2025, prizes will again be awarded for the best research projects in the field of oncology nursing completed in the years 2022 - 2024. The call for entries will then be announced here.
