Realignment of the Executive Board - Goals 2025/2026

The tasks within the board of our association have now been redistributed and we are working on realistic goals for 2025/2026 in the areas of promotion of nursing science, leadership in science, stakeholder management and policy for the benefit of a growing academic community of nurses in practice, management, education and research. It is important to us to increase the attractiveness of the association not only for nurses with a Master of Science, but also to invite our colleagues and graduates of universities of applied sciences with a Bachelor of Science to support the association and its concerns. Because it is never too early to face the exciting challenges of nursing science and the associated role developments.

If you have ideas on important topics in the field of academic development in nursing that fit in with our strategy (see Portrait/About us | Swiss Association for Nursing Science), please contact us directly at info@vfp-apsi.ch with your suggestions.

Office

Over the summer, the focus was on completing important "tidying up" work, which we have now largely completed. Now we are looking ahead: in the fall, the focus will be on marketing and communication, with a particular focus on our collective members.

We want to better understand what services they value, strengthen relationships with existing members - and build on this to attract new collective members.

Ideas and tips are always welcome!

AFG Acute Care - You are smarter than your data - Nursing Data 2025 - Inspiration from 5 countries!

Around 140 participants accepted the invitation to the Nursing Data Symposium on June 25, 2025 in Lucerne. There was a lively scientific exchange between various professional groups, disciplines and VfP members. Sandra Füssenich and Michael Simon charmingly led through the day, and together with the words of welcome from the VFP Board by Heidrun Gattinger and the 15 speakers, the discourse was encouraged. The enormous commitment of the AFG acute care members, the VFP secretariat, in particular F. Stehrenberger, and the generous hospitality of the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital with suitable premises and technical support contributed to a successful symposium.

The critical questions highlighted the relevance of the topic: systematic analyses of structured, standardized nursing data allow nursing practice to identify the necessary problems, make nursing diagnoses, improve patient outcomes and deploy staff correctly.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed and took part!

AFG Oncology Care -  Two major successes for our AFG Oncology Care members

Matthias Hellberg-Naegele, a long-standing member of AFG Oncology Care and former Co-President, has been a member of AFG Oncology Care since June 2025 Board Member bei der European Society of Oncology Nursing (EONS) and at the same time as Co-Chair der Education Group has been elected.

We warmly congratulate Matthias on this new mandate and are delighted that our AFG Oncology Care is actively represented at EONS through Matthias.

Also in June, our member Dr. Sabine Valenta was appointed to a W3 professorship for nursing science with a focus on health services research at the Medical Faculty of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. From January 1, 2026, she will take over as head of the newly established Department of Clinical Nursing Science and Implementation Research at the Institute of Health Sciences.

We are very pleased and congratulate her on this appointment. We wish Sabine all the best for the future and this new role, and of course we hope that she will remain with us as a member. Link to the Communication.

AFG Rehabilitationspflege - Life Forum Rehabilitation 18.09.25

On September 18, 2025, the national LIFE Forum Rehabilitation will focus on integrated and coordinated care. The event will shed light on the role of integrated care within the national "Health 2030" strategy and use an example from Germany to show how rehabilitation can be incorporated into an integrated care system.

Two keynotes will provide key impetus. Five flash talks will then present inspiring practical examples from various areas: inpatient rehabilitation, rehabilitation care in pediatric rehabilitation, the perspective of those affected and the importance of the electronic patient dossier for care coordination.

The event will conclude with a panel discussion in which representatives from politics, practice, insurance companies and patient representatives will discuss how rehabilitation can help to further optimize integrated care in Switzerland.

Participation in the forum at the University of Lucerne is free of charge. The organizers look forward to welcoming you there and exchanging ideas over an aperitif riche from 5.30 pm.

Please register by September 10, 2025 at www.unilu.ch/anmeldung-life-forum/ an.
