Innovation in Health Care
Haute École Arc Santé
The Haute École Arc Santé is launching, in collaboration with the Haute école de gestion Arc and the Haute École Arc – Ingénierie, the first edition of the HE-ARCATHON 2026—a public innovation event in the health sector.The HE-ARCATHON will run from May 5 to September 17, 2026 and provides a platform for the development and co-creation of new project ideas addressing current challenges in the healthcare system. Thematic focus areas include:
The event brings together stakeholders from the fields of health, research, engineering, innovation, and business. Selected teams benefit from professional guidance from experts and coaching sessions, and can win prizes totaling CHF 5,000 to further develop their projects.
The initiative is aimed at, among others, healthcare institutions, universities and research institutions, startups, SMEs, nursing professionals, patients, and individuals with project ideas who wish to turn a specific need into a viable solution.

Networking Event
Kornhausforum of the City of Bern, Stadtsaal, 1st floor
To mark the closing of the exhibition, the BFH cordially invites experts, researchers, activists, and those directly affected to engage in discussion and networking.
In the workshops, you will explore topics such as reproductive health care in federal asylum centers, sexual rights and access to contraception, and racism in obstetrics, among others.
In doing so, you would also like to develop proposals that we could present to policymakers.
The meeting will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Kornhausforum. (Please register by October 16, 26 by providing your name and, if applicable, your organization, via email to: amina.cisse@unibe.ch)
Following the networking event, at 5:30 p.m. there will be an opportunity to take part in a public guided tour of the exhibition Atlas of Reproduction – Babies, Borders, Geopolitics right there at the Kornhausforum.
At 6:30 p.m., a panel discussion will take place at the Polit-Forum Käfigturm to mark the closing of the exhibition, followed by a reception.

Nursing in Germany is undergoing profound change. The shift toward academic training, new role profiles, digital developments, and increasingly complex care structures are opening up new possibilities for nursing care, while at the same time presenting the profession with major challenges.
An increasing amount of nursing research findings, innovative care models, and new educational approaches are becoming available—but their sustainable integration into practice, organizational structures, and teaching is not a given.
The successful implementation of knowledge and innovations requires more than evidence alone: it requires interprofessional collaboration, supportive organizational structures, nursing education concepts, leadership skills, and a willingness to actively help shape change processes.
In particular, collaboration between nursing management, nursing science, and nursing education plays a central role in this regard. Only by integrating these perspectives can sustainable developments be initiated and effectively incorporated into everyday care practice. Against this backdrop, we would like to discuss the following questions with you—among others—at the 2027 Nursing Symposium on May 12, 2027:
